It's Like A Minecraft RTS Game Is Coming From Dungeons Devs

According to reports, a brand new Minecraft game is in development and it may be a strategy game developed by the team behind Minecraft Dungeons. Although it's still a rumour there is a good chance that the possibility of a Minecraft RTS game is coming and could be revealed at the Xbox Showcase during Summer Game Fest?

In case you didn't see it yesterday, Jeff Gerstmann, Giant Bomb's games journalist and conduit for leaks, has left Giant Bomb. But don’t believe that  My games  is the end of his rumour mill. Now, in a video on his own Twitch channel (via ResetEra), Gerstmann states that there's "a new Minecraft spin-off that's in the works."

Microsoft is "testing it out" in the moment, Gerstmann said. He's seen screenshots that make it appear like a real-time strategy video game. Gerstmann claims that he's seen some screenshots, and it looks like something that's similar to Overlord. It'll have "story and cutscenes" as well.

It's not known who is creating it. Minecraft Dungeons studio Double Eleven is currently working on Fallout 76, has job postings for an unidentified "major IP, RTS" game. This could be an incredibly coincidence.

It's possible that the Minecraft RTS game could be unveiled at the Xbox Showcase. You can find out when it will be announced, as well as the complete Summer Game Fest schedule at this link.
